WOMAN SAFEGUARDING
Our Woman Safeguarding Details
At Udvabini Mohila Sangstha, we are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment for every woman and girl across our development initiatives. Safeguarding is fundamentally woven into our mission of ensuring gender equity, human rights, and social justice. Our organizational practices are guided by our internal Women’s Safeguarding and Protection Policy, aligned with national legal frameworks—including the Prevention of Oppression Against Women and Children Act and Bangladesh Labor Laws—and informed by international human rights standards.
Women’s safeguarding encompasses every proactive measure we take to ensure that our staff, operational practices, training centers, and community spaces maintain zero tolerance for harm, gender-based violence, sexual harassment, exploitation, or discrimination.
Our women’s safeguarding framework rests on four core pillars: Awareness, Prevention, Reporting, and Responding.
Fair and Transparent Process
Udvabini Mohila Sangstha works continuously to maintain an accessible, accountable, and transparent safeguarding system. We maintain clear guidelines to register, investigate, and address any breach of trust, harassment, or safety concern.
An internal Safeguarding and Gender Ethics Committee convenes routinely to audit workplace and community safety, assess risk factors, and oversee strict corrective measures. Every staff member, volunteer, and partner organization shares the duty of fostering an environment built on equity, dignity, and mutual protection.
Culture of Prevention and Empowerment
Prevention begins with breaking silences. We nurture a proactive organizational culture grounded in dialogue, continuous training, and leadership development. Regular awareness workshops, rights-based capacity building, and legal literacy sessions are conducted across our operational communities.
By encouraging open feedback, we assess operational risks, evaluate power dynamics, and adapt our field practices to eliminate potential threats to women’s physical, psychological, and economic security.
Zero Tolerance for Abuse and Harassment
Udvabini Mohila Sangstha maintains an absolute zero-tolerance policy for sexual exploitation, sexual abuse, harassment (SEAH), domestic violence, and financial coercion.
Any grievance or report—whether concerning staff misconduct, community-level harassment, or institutional exploitation—is treated with total confidentiality, urgency, and impartiality in line with due process.
We stand firm in our commitment: every woman who engages with our organization will find an environment where her dignity is defended, her voice is validated, and her potential is fully supported.
